Board of Trustees
The trustees role as a collective is to set the charity’s strategic direction, monitor the delivery of the charity’s objects, uphold its values and guide, advise and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who leads the team towards achieving the charity’s vision and objects. Each trustee heads or is part of a subcommittee with clearly defined aims and reports back the activities of the committee to the full board of trustees to inform their decision making processes.
Tracee qualified as an aromatherapist in 2013 and holds a degree in Complementary Therapies from the University of Bedfordshire. Alongside her studies, she also completed the International Federation of Reflexology (IFR) certificate course. She is a former teacher of English and has worked in PR for many years. She is manager of Simply Solutions (PR Company) and Partnership Manager for Peace Partners’ charity, a charity founded on education for disadvantaged communities. She manages businesses’ social media and runs campaigns across platforms. She also writes blogs and articles regularly, especially for the travel industry. She has worked for the Hong Kong government as a Press and PR Officer and organised the Chief Executive of HK’s UK visit in 2011. She has a wealth of experience developing strategy documents, and writing and incorporating them into businesses. She has worked in a range of organisations from public sector local authorities as a press officer, for charities and a college, amongst other roles. Tracee recently became a domiciliary care worker and holistic therapist for a cancer charity. She is on a cancer support group committee and Palliative and Supportive Cancer Care/ Mount Vernon Cancer Network. She has attended and massaged at the cancer charity's Moonwalk in Hyde Park and the Beauty Show at the Olympia Events Stadium in London.×

Marie qualified as an Aromatherapist back in 1993. Two years later she started working full time in her own Clinic and has been doing so ever since. In 2003 she attained a teaching qualification with City and Guilds and then taught Aromatherapy Massage part-time for South East Derbyshire College of Further Education. In an endeavour to increase her own knowledge of Aromatherapy, she qualified in 2010 as an Aromatologist and attended further courses in Aromatic Botany at Kew Gardens, Aromatic Chemistry, the Benefits of Hydrolats, Aromatherapy for Arthritis and Pain Management. In addition, Marie also worked on improving her massage skills by undertaking two Advanced Massage courses. Her particular interest is the potential of essential oils to manage / eradicate infections, especially now that antibiotics are declining in their efficacy. Additionally, as an Aromatherapist of over twenty years, she still retains a huge interest in pain management, since it is the mainstay of her work in the Clinic and another area of great research potential.×

Gareth has a broad range of experience of management, governance and people issues from a long career in Human Resource Management including a number of senior leadership positions in international financial services firms. Most recently he was Managing Director, Human Resources at Royal Bank of Canada. He has particular expertise in governance, compensation, employee relations and the challenges of working across different countries and cultures. He has managed projects and teams on a global basis including in Europe, North America, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region. He has experience of the issues and challenges faced by the charitable sector having served as Chair and Trustee of Brokerage Citylink, a City of London based charity. Gareth has a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University and a degree in Film & TV Studies from the University of Westminster. He is a Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Gareth has a keen interest in aromatherapy as a regular user of aromatherapy products.×
Kim studied with Patricia Davis’s London School of Aromatherapy and qualified in 1999. She went on to set up her business Aromahealthcare offering massage treatments and bespoke aromatherapy products. In 2001 she joined Sylla-Shepperd Hangar and Doug E Rasmusson in New York after the 9/11 disaster working with the Massage Relief Effort. From that experience she went on to co-found the UK Charity Rest UK, which aim was to bring relief to rescue workers in the form of seated massage and aromatherapy at scenes of major incidents. During this time Kim trained many volunteers on how to provide respite care during the 10 years in operation. She is also a baby massage and baby yoga instructor working at the local Sure Start centre. Having worked with essential oils for 19 years she feels as passionate about them today as she did when she trained in the 1990’s delivering talks and promoting aromatherapy to groups from as wide a range as local WI to the probation services.×
Pavan qualified as an aromatherapist in 2013 from the University of Westminister. She has a Diploma in Natural Sciences, is a Certified NLP Practitioner, Reflexologist and has a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling. As a practitioner she has lectured and practised in various settings including schools, universities, multi-disciplinary clinics, local support groups and currently works in a Children’s Hospice. Within the Hospice Pavan plays a key role in assisting with the development, structure and delivery of Complementary Therapies to adults and children. Within Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice she has assisted in the delivery of spiritual and complementary therapies training modules. She has created and lead wellbeing events for families post bereavement and delivered presentations within her local sikh community about health and wellbeing in and around Leeds. Her experience prior to becoming a practitioner was in a Pharmacy. As a dispenser she learnt a great deal about symptomatic effect medication can have on one’s health which gained her a wealth of knowledge and insight about different medications, interactions, dosage, preparation and wellbeing advice.×
Martyn qualified as an aromatherapist in 1986 and joined the IFA in 1987. Martyn has a wealth of experience having worked in education for over 50 years and the therapy business for over 35 years. He has worked at various institutions lecturing and training and has qualifications in advanced reflexology and been an examiner for the Association of Reflexologists and lecturer for Maidstone College of Osteopathy. Martyn has worked in various hospices and is the founding chairman of the National Association of Complementary Therapists in hospice and palliative care. Since 1988 to the present day he has worked for Pilgrims Hospice in Canterbury as Lead Complementary Therapist and Lecturer. Since 2013 he was responsible for the spiritual care of the hospice as a non-religious spiritual care Lead. As well as running his own complementary therapy business, in 1989 he launched the Canterbury School of Natural Therapies to offer practitioners HE level training. Martyn has also served on the IFA Council for a number of years during the 1990s.×
Kim qualified as an aromatherapist in 1992 from the Raworth Centre. She is an experienced Senior Business Development Manager & Global Trainer with a proven track record of driving global sales and marketing, new product development and international training programmes within the Health & Wellbeing, Perfumery and Food & Drinks market segments. She has worked with high profile clients such as Diageo, Bacardi, ESPA and Pernod Ricard on development of brands, and takes the lead in new product development including the formulation of new fragrances for use in Men’s skincare ranges and corporate environments, using skills as an Aromachologist. Consummate leader, who directs international sales teams/agents, takes ownership for marketing communications, event management and brand awareness, able to deal effectively with media and produces content for trade press, and develops globally accredited training programmes tailored to specific industries and audiences. She has acted as a Perfumer on multiple projects including the development of products for use in skincare ranges, mood fragrances, spa treatment protocols, and the successful rebranding of existing lines. Industry Spokesperson for trade and consumer press, frequently developed features within industry magazines, and speaker at professional symposia such as Society of Cosmetic Scientists.×
