CPD & Short Course Accreditation

The IFA offers accreditation for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities and short courses in areas including essential oils, perfumery, massage, business studies, first aid and other allied subjects.

IFA CPD Accreditation provides independent recognition that a course has been reviewed by the IFA and approved as suitable for professional development purposes. Approved courses may be promoted using the ‘IFA CPD Accredited’ quality mark and recognised as eligible for IFA CPD points in accordance with the IFA CPD Policy.

Please note: IFA CPD Accreditation is intended for short courses, workshops and professional development activities, typically delivered over 1–3 days. It is designed to support additional learning, specialist knowledge and skills development, rather than accreditation of more extensive training programmes leading to professional qualifications.

Examples of suitable CPD courses may include:

  • Specialist essential oil workshops
  • Short aromatherapy-related courses
  • Continuing education for qualified practitioners
  • Business, wellbeing or allied subject training
  • Refresher or skills development sessions

To apply for CPD Accreditation, please complete the application form for each course you wish to submit. The application should include:

  • Course overview, learning outcomes, content, duration and method of delivery
  • Tutor qualifications and relevant experience
  • Tutor insurance (where applicable according to the regulations of your country of operation)
  • Health and Safety information (where the course is delivered at a physical venue)

Please provide sufficient information for assessment of the course content and delivery.

Once a course has been CPD Accredited by the IFA, it may be delivered multiple times during the accreditation period by the approved tutor.

CPD Accreditation is £100.00 per course and is renewable annually.
