Support
We support our centre owners and teachers in the following ways:
Professional Syllabi |
Provide access to our professional syllabi and teaching manuals (currently available in four languages) with clearly defined curriculum content and learning outcomes aiding teachers to create structured course material. Our detailed syllabi also include useful additional notes for teachers and sample exam questions for each unit. Our syllabi are consistently reviewed to reflect the very latest techniques and research developments in the field. |

Research Search Filter |
Centres can gain access to our easy to use search facility where you can find links to filtered clinical trials and research papers by essential oil, carrier oil, therapeutic property, medical condition, ailment and/or by a natural progression in the body all of which relate to our syllabi to assist teachers when creating teaching notes. |
Assessment forms |
Downloadable structured assessment forms and guidance notes for coursework components. |
Template Policies |
Our Centre Support Area provides access to all the relevant template policies to enable Centres to meet the approval requirements and support the running of their business. |
Externally invigilated examinations |
The IFA provides examination papers, experienced examiners, venue (where necessary), external audit and marking of papers and provide to each successful candidate, an embossed diploma certificate issued from the International Federation of Aromatherapists. |
Route of progression |
Once approved, Centres are granted the opportunity to deliver other IFA advanced courses and provided access to manuals of how to bridge between our qualifications. |
Discounts |
We work closely with industry providers to bring you discounts on products and supplies from quality brands. Discounted tickets to conferences, workshops and seminars for your tutors and students. |
Continual Support |
A dedicated team member allocated to assist with any enquiries you may have. We also have an education committee and specialist panel of advisors who can assist with questions relating to aromatherapy. |
Multilingual staff & translation service |
We currently employ multilingual staff, have a multilingual website, provide examination papers in the learners required language and can provide other translation services for special requirements (additional costs may apply). |

Professional Status & Recognition |
Able to offer learners an internally recognised qualification in aromatherapy accredited by the IFA; equivalent to a level 4-5 standard in APEL University Credits incorporating the National Occupational Standards (NOS), Open College Network Standards and meets the National Qualification Framework (NQF) requirements. On completion of IFA course students are automatically eligible to join the IFA membership with the following benefits. |
Use of Quality Mark |
Use of IFA Approved Centre quality mark on your website and promotional material subject to the terms and conditions of use. |
Entry onto national directory |
Approved Centres appear on the IFA directory of approved course providers (with over 50,000 views per year), assuring the public and potential learners that your qualification has met the IFA's standards. All our approved centres are also listed on the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) qualification provider register who are approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA), a body accountable to the UK parliament. |
Promotion |
Promoted in the Aromatherapy Times magazine, circulated to 5,000 professionals and registered with the British Library, distributed at exhibitions in the beauty, complementary health and alternative medicine sector. All enquiries made to the office are referred to our approved course provider directory and all Centres are provided with a course(s) description to promote on their website. |
CPD Advertisement |
Centres may advertise their CPD course(s), which complement part of the IFA syllabus components free of charge on our website to assist our Centres to advertise IFA courses. |
