85% of complementary, traditional and natural healthcare therapists do not use plastic-based products in their practice, according to a sustainability survey carried out by the Integrated Healthcare Collaborative (IHC) of which the IFA is a core member.

Members of The International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA), and practitioners from across the complementary healthcare sector, took part in the survey to find out how sustainable our working practices are, so that we can look in more depth at our sector’s impact on the environment, and whether there are ways we can make it even more environmentally friendly.

Other results from the survey will be released, with statistics revealing a sector which has high environmental awareness, and which cares deeply about the welfare of both the planet and patients.

Healthcare professionals in our sector provide important and valued services and contribute to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of millions of people across the UK. They are not only kind to your body, they are kind to the environment.

Thank you to all those that took part.
