Essential Oil Aroma, Subjective Stress, and Diurnal Cortisol Secretion in Healthy Adults: A Single Blind, Placebo Controlled, Cross-over Study

The IFA are undertaking three research studies to determine whether essential oils can reduce stress levels using saliva and hair samples to determine cortisol levels. Previous studies have not kept the essential oil active, subjecting it to oxygen and sunlight, killing the active ingredients, so results are not accurate, that is until now.

This September, IFA has become a core member of the Integrated Healthcare Collaborative (IHC) to work collaboratively with other CAM disciplines to collectively further the interests of our registrants. The Collaborative was formed in April of 2020 and currently has approximately 29 professional bodies represented.
