CPD Workshops & Short Courses
CPD is a standard requirement of many professionals to ensure that practitioners are up-to-date with knowledge relating to their professional practice, that they regularly re-assess or improve their skills and most important, that they attend to their own personal development. For aromatherapy professionals CPD serves two purposes – first, it helps maintain a high standard of practice as well as give quality assurances to the general public and second, as most therapists work by themselves, it helps them maintain a professional supportive network and reminds them to also take care of themselves. Whether you are a complete beginner or a practising therapist there is always something new to learn.
Below you can find a range of short courses ranging between 1- 3 days in duration, offering inspiring and empowering insights into the world of aromatherapy for the beginner and also for the more experienced therapist to bring additional skills to incorporate into their practice and for refresher purposes. Each course is recognised for Continual Professional Development (CPD) points with the IFA and has met our approval criteria. To find a CPD course near you please search by location and topic.

Aromatherapy and Aromachology

A 3-day workshop taught by registered aromatherapist and registered psychological consultant. From understanding Physiological and psychological responses to Essential Oils and psychophysiology. Aromachology [coined by the Sense of Smell Institute (SSI), USA, 1982] is based on the interrelationship of psychology and odor, that is, its effect on specific feelings (e.g., relaxation, exhilaration, sensuality, happiness and achievement) by its direct effect on the brain. After completing this course, the learners should able to have a basic understanding on Aromachology and use of essential oils during consultation to treat on emotional issues.
